This former Lake States RS-2u still has its RS-2 244 engine in it. Alco rebuilt this locomotive and made some minor upgrades to including giving it RS-3 features.
This locomotive was sold to a private party in 2008, but now its future is unknown. This needs to be saved,

This Alco S-1 is a former LIRR unit that has seen many owners including Naparano Iron & Metal and the Mohawk & Hudson Chapter,NRHS. It was sold in 1987 to a private owner from Ohio, but never moved from this Colonie, NY location since. The locomotive is in rough shape and is worthy of a static display. Current owner has never come forward to make any attempt to restore it or move it. It can be considered abandoned at this point.

Alco has built many demonstrators over the years, but few have survived. This Alco S-1 was used as a plant switcher in Schenectady until 1988 when it was sold to a private owner. Later the S-1 was reconditioned and repainted as seen above in its "official" demo scheme.
This Alco now is in the hands of the Upper Hudson River Railroad and in service.
